The Wave that Started it All
"Bleed Green wasn't just a project. It was a promise we made to every girl who ever sat out of class."
We are ShakTide — a bold social startup that began inside the classrooms of VidyaGyan School, Lucknow, where a group of students refused to accept that menstruation should be shameful, secret, or a barrier to education.
Our founders noticed that while urban cities were moving forward, the silence around menstruation in rural areas remained deafening. Girls were missing exams. Women were suffering in silence. Healthcare providers were dismissing symptoms. We decided that wasn't good enough.
Today, ShakTide is a registered social startup led by the very people who needed it the most — young women and men committed to turning period taboos into table talks, and replacing misinformation with medical clarity.
